Meet The Mom Behind The Blog!

Hi friends, I’m Tara!

I’m a stay-at-home-mom who loves all things pop culture, breaking gender norms and exploring Northern California’s natural beauty. I started Real Salty Mom after a few chaotic years and craving connection with other people who just get it. Having a baby in a pandemic (don’t recommend) followed by actually getting Covid which resulted in me having POTS (really don’t recommend!) has rocked my world in a way that I was definitely not expecting. My hope with this blog is to be a source of information, connection and community for other people who may need it as much as I do.

A few fun facts about me:

• The Vampire Diaries is my favorite show, but Buffy The Vampire Slayer is a very close second.

• I am a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan. My husband is from Philly and football is a big deal in our house!

• I am a die-hard Swiftie and have been since her debut album. I am absolutely ALWAYS looking for people to discuss possible easter eggs and conspiracy theories with!

I live with my incredible husband, Joe, and our toddler, Nico. I may be biased, but Nico is the best and cutest kid I’ve ever met. He is my world and everything I do in life is in the pursuit of giving him everything he needs and more. I’ll be sharing looks at our lives and insight into the highs and lows of being a first-time parent. As for sharing our family moments, we're all about preserving Nico's privacy and letting him choose what he wants to share online as he grows up. So, don't expect to see his adorable face or personal details here.

I hope this can be a place for us to be salty about whatever we want, freak out about whatever Swiftie news comes up next, be unashamed about whatever “basic” things we like and maybe even finally admit we’re Disney adults (oh, wait… maybe that’s just me?)
